Did you know? The belief that sinners will suffer forever in Hell is based on a single pagan idea that is never once found in Scripture.
The Bible makes it clear that the ‘punishment’ for sin is 'death' — it's the punishment Adam & Eve were warned about, the one animals faced under the sacrificial system, and above all, the punishment our Lord Jesus faced on the cross for all who believe in Him.

Yet if unbelievers have immortal souls, it is impossible for them to die in any literal sense. In that case, they must endure the sufferings of hell for all eternity in a conscious state. But where does the Bible teach that human souls are inherently immortal? There is not one verse. Search and see for yourself.

So, what happened? The early church grew in a world where Greek philosophy dominated education, culture, and public thought, and Plato’s concept of the immortal soul was widely accepted as truth. Therefore, over time, it became the majority view within the church.
How can we know for sure? Scripture clearly teaches the opposite, making it easy for honest Christians to find the truth: humans are mortal by nature and only believers in Christ will 'put on immortality' to live forever – no one else.

Here, at 95 Verses, you'll be presented with a wealth of Bible verses proving that 'only believers are immortal' and therefore 'unbelievers eventually die'. You can also explore counterclaims for deeper study. And, most importantly, you can take the test to see for yourself what the Bible says about hell.
